Hey all,
The lovely town of Ferrara isn't far from Venice. The town is also very Medieval, seems to be a running trend in Italian towns. This town was so interesting, with tonnes of preserved art. What's particular interesting about it is that during the Medieval period it was a closed society where life, culture and everything else hinged around the Doge (Duke). So it had its own importances, and people and was distinctly separate from other cities.
Everyone owns a bike here. Apparently the population to bike ratio is that everyone owns 1.9 bikes. Something like 130, 000 people live here and there are 160, 000 bikes. Not sure if this is accurate, but judging from all the bikes everywhere I'm guessing it is close.
Art from a game room in a 14thC home. Insane.
Cathedral.
This was a Duke's home away from home. The little shops down below are quite unique. And still function as a market.
